"I have only one valuable possession; it is held in my heart, it burns in my soul, it abides in my flesh, it aches in my nerves: it is the love that my people have for me"
The musical begins with a young, ambitious Eva detailing her passionate life until her death in 1952. Evita was the second wife of Argentinean dictator Juan Peron and during her life gained many dedicated followers as a result of her charity work and devotion to the lower classes. Unfortunately with popularity comes hatred and the feelings for Evita left a nation divided, at the time of her death mourners lined the streets whilst celebrations took place in households across the capital.
Evita offers an insight in to a woman that changed a country and stole a nation's hearts. Be swept along with the action and enjoy an evening of drama, passion, glamour and greed.
