Sandy is a goody two-shoes from Australia who falls in love with cool cat Danny Zuko over the summer holiday. Their love affair ends when Sandy heads back to Australia with her parents - but a stroke of fate means that Sandy's parents move to America and she ends up at Rydell High, the same school as Danny.
However, things aren't all that simple, as Danny has a reputation to keep up and can't be seen going out with prim and proper Sandy. Sandy seeks solace in her new found friends, the feisty Pink Ladies and starts dating a jock, but she just can't forget about Danny. Danny is similarly love struck and even tries becoming a jock himself, to please Sandy. After a series of twists and turns, it's Sandy that transforms herself, leaving behind her good girl persona as her and Danny are finally united
